2011 Recruit Spotlight: Wide Receiver Trey Metoyer

New, 9 comments

Well, we've talked about him in so many other posts and the podcasts, I figured it was about time we gave you a look at 5-star WR recruit Trey Metoyer (pronounced "Muh-Twire").  Metoyer is 6'2" 198 and is out of Whitehouse high school in Whitehouse, TX.  Metoyer is the second five star (per Rivals) for OU in the 2011 class joining RB Brandon Williams.

As you can see from the video above, Metoyer is no slouch in the open field.  But his best attribute by far is his hands.  The kid can and will catch anything that is remotely close to his vicinity, which should go a long way to helping him develop that trust with Landry once he gets on campus this fall.

Metoyer is another feather in the cap of Coach Norvell who was the primary recruiter and convinced Trey to turn down offers from Arizona, Arkansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, and Texas A&M.  Metoyer is under no illusions as to the talent OU currently has at WR, but has been very open in his desire and determination to see the field in 2011.  This Sooner fan will not be one to bet against that happening.

Bonus extended highlight video from Metoyer's junior season after the jump.

Enjoy and let your imagine run wild thinking about Metoyer, Broyles, Stills, Miller, Franks, and co. terrorizing opposing secondaries next year!
