Sooners Win Ugly! OU 27 - Air Force 24

If you listened to Sooner Nation Thursday night or read any of the preview posts you would have at least known that we said the Air Force game had tons of potential to get ugly. Turns out that we were right! Although the Sooners never trailed in the game they had to fight for every inch and earn every point. The end result was an Oklahoma win that left Sooner fans scratching their heads. Here are a couple of post game thoughts before the official reviews are up.

Good: DeMarco Murray - Quietly had a fantastic game with 111 rushing yards, 38 receiving yards, 39 return yards and 3 total touchdowns.

Bad: Cameron Kenney - Looks like he might have found the dropsies again.

Ugly: Arm tackling - After a week of focusing on how important assignment football and sure tackling were for the defense the Sooners did a lousy job at not wrapping up and bringing down.

Good: Travis Lewis, Jamell Fleming & Jonathan Nelson - We're Oklahoma's top three tacklers on the day with 13, 11 and 10 tackles each.

Bad: Defensive tackles - Got ran over by Jared Tew who averaged 4.4 yards per carry.

Ugly: Air Force team average of 5.4 yards per rush.

Good: Amount of honor and respect paid to Air Force and all of the U.S. Armed Forces by the University and fans.

Bad: The Hammer not making it on the field other than special teams.

Ugly: The small number of fans who still chose to sing, "home of the Sooners!"
