NORMAN, Okla. -- No. 11 Oklahoma (47-15) is two wins away from the program's 10th College World Series appearance as the Sooners travel to Charlottesville, Va., to play the nation's No. 5 seed, Virginia, in the NCAA Super Regional this weekend. The series will start on Saturday, June 12 at 2 p.m. CT and will be aired on ESPNU from Davenport Field. Sunday's game will get underway at 3 p.m. on ESPN and Monday's finale is slated for either noon or 6 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
- The No. 1 Cavaliers (50-12) knocked off St. John's, 5-3, on Monday afternoon to win the Charlottesville Regional. Virginia was one of eight host sites that played in an if-necessary game on Monday. Virginia entered the beginning of the NCAA Tournament ranked No. 1 or No. 2 in each of the four major polls and finished first in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Cavaliers made their first appearance in the College World Series in 2009.
- A winner in nine of the last 10 outings, OU is ranked as high as No. 11 by Baseball America and the NCBWA polls (No. 13 in Collegiate Baseball and USA Today/ESPN Coaches' ). OU's 42 regular season wins is the most by an OU team since 1989.
