Oklahoma State had a bit of a rally left in them after watching their 3-0 lead turn into a 5-4 deficit during the fourth and fifth innings. The Cowboys plated two runs in the top of the eight but it just wasn't quite enough to overcome the damage done by Sooner bats.
"What a great Bedlam baseball game to break in this beautiful new ballpark," said OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway. "It's a great opportunity for our student-athletes to be able and participate in this setting. Finding victory tonight makes us feel a lot better about the start (here)."

Going into the bottom half of the fourth inning Oklahoma trailed 4-0 and Oklahoma State seemed in control of the game after scoring one run in their half of each of the first four innings. Then Max White, Cody Reine, Chris Ellison, Cameron Seitzer and Garrett Buechele all found a pitch that they liked and sent the ball out of the park. Seitzer put the Sooners up for good in the fifth inning with his home run and then Buechele's two-run shot in the seventh gave the Sooners the insurance runs that they'd need to secure the victory.
