By virtue of a 9-7 Red Sox victory over the New York Yankees last night the 2010 Major League baseball season is underway. Which brings me to a question for our community here at The Machine. Well, actually two. Do you follow major league baseball? Who is your favorite team?

Baseball is described as America's favorite pastime but I would strongly disagree with that and say that its actually football that serves as America's favorite pastime. Nonetheless though, its still fun to watch and it gets us through the summer to the football season. So who should we follow here at The Machine as our favorite team. Let's figure it out! Tell us in the comments section who your team is and why you should follow them. In a couple of days we'll bring it up for a vote and decide who is going to be the official 2010 MLB team of Crimson And Cream Machine.

My favorite team is the Seattle Mariners. About five years ago I finally gave up on cheering for the Kansas City Royals (I'd been a fan since 1983) and declared myself a MLB free agent fan. I sent an email to all the MLB teams announcing that I was on the market as a fan and asked why I should start following their team. Seattle gave the best response and I've been on board ever since. That's my story, what's yours?

The Crimson And Cream Machine Fantasy Baseball League is now open and is forming. We'd like your participation and here's how you can sign up.

1) Go to the Yahoo Fantasy Baseball page.

2) Click "Join A League"

3) Click "Join Custom"

4) Enter league ID# and password - the ID# is 659545 and the Password is boomersooner.

5) Create your team

6) Its all free!!!

Our league is set up for 20 teams and as of right now (because I just created the league) there are 19 slots left. League registration will close of Friday with the draft over the weekend. League play will hopefully begin a week from today.
