There's no telling what's going to happen Sunday afternoon in game three of the OU/Texas A&M baseball series but you've got to think that the Sooners have the momentum after Saturday's marathon game. Oklahoma trailed A&M by two runs at three different times in the game and never led until scoring the winning run in the top of the 13th inning. That's right, you just read correctly. Saturday's game gave us four extra innings of bonus baseball thanks to a 9th inning rally by the Sooners.
"Great college baseball game on both sides," said OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway. "You have to tip your cap to every student-athlete that participated. There was a lot of courage on the mound from our side and their side. Guys were staying in there and battling their tail off."
The Aggies took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first and while OU would tie it up in the top of the 3rd, A&M went back up 4-2 in the bottom of the inning. The Sooners got in back to within 1 in the top of the 6th only to see the Aggies push it back to a 5-3 lead in the bottom of the 8th to set up some late game drama.
Garrett Buechele tied the game at five in the top of the ninth with a two-run single to right field. Then, after three scoreless extra innings, Cameron Seitzer pounded out an RBI double to give OU the 6-5 win. Now, OU needs to close out the series on Sunday.
