Sooners Beat Tigers 10-4, Win Series

The Oklahoma Sooners are once again in position to gain a series sweep over a conference foe thanks to Saturday's 10-4 win over Missouri. The win over the Tigers pushed Oklahoma's conference record above .500 and guaranteed that the Sooners would win their third conference series out of four this season.

"For us to win three out of our first four series is big and I think it's going to position us back in the race," said OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway. "Now, what we need to do is understand we have to come out aggressive tomorrow because it's big for percentage points in the standings. We've already secured the series victory, but we have to make sure we complete the weekend on a high note and stay above the .500 mark in the Big 12."

The Tigers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning but the Sooners plated a run in the bottom of the first and second innings to tie the score. Back-to-back two run innings in the 4th and 5th put the game out of reach with a 6-2 OU lead thanks to home runs by Max White and Cody Reine. The Sooners added another run in the 6th and then three more in the 8th to eventually push the lead to 10-2.

Bobby Shore pitched 7 solid innings, allowing 9 hits and striking out 6 batters to improve his record to 5-1 on the season. Cody Reine went 3-for-3 from the plate with 2 RBI's and 1 home run. He also scored twice. First pitch in game three is slated for 1:00 Sunday afternoon.
