Sooners Pound Nebraska 10-2

Nebraska took a 1-0 lead over Oklahoma in the bottom of the first off a Kale Kiser double and then held on to it until the the top of the 4th. Caleb Bushyhead got the Sooners on the board in the 4th with a single shot home run to tie the game a 1-1 and the Huskers wouldn't be able to regain the lead again.

In the 5th Max White gave OU a 2-1 lead with a solo shot over the left field fence. In the 6th Caleb Bushyhead struck again by driving in Chris Ellison. He would then score, along with Cameron Seitzer, off a Max White double pushing the Oklahoma lead up to 5-1.

Oklahoma's first three batters successfully reached base to start the 7th, leaving Bushyhead a bases loaded situation with no outs. Our favorite Sooner namesake hit a line drive directly to second baseman Bryan Peters, driving in Bryan Groth and allowing Danny Black to score on and error. OU's lead was now 7-1 and they weren't quite done yet. Garrett Buechele hit a three-run homer in the next at bat to give the Sooners a 10-1 lead and allowing them to coast through the final 2.5 innings to remain perfect in Big 12 conference play.

Zach Neal picked up the win for OU. He pitched 7 innings, facing 25 batters, allowing 4 hits and striking out 11. OU and Nebraska go at it again Saturday afternoon at 2:00.
