Sooner Baseball Moves To 3-0 With 9-5 Win Over San Diego State

For the first time this season the Sooners didn't have to come from behind to win a baseball game. After building a 7-0 lead in the 6th inning OU cruised to a 9-5 win over San Diego. The win pushed Oklahoma's record to 3-0 and guaranteed that the Sooners would leave San Diego with a series win. They play the final of their four game series Sunday afternoon.

OU struck for four runs in the 6th inning to push their lead to 7-0. Danny Black knocked in one of those runs on a triple and Tyler Ogle plated two more on a double. Although they'd score two more times before the game ended, that would be all the offense that the Sooners would need to beat San Diego State for the third consecutive game.

Ryan Gibson faced 19 batters over 5 innings, striking out 9 and allowing no runs and just 3 hits, to earn the win. Ryan Duke picked up his second save of the season (in as many tries) by pitching two innings and facing six batters. He struck out two and allowed no runs.

First pitch in Sunday's fourth and final game of the series is set for 3:00 pm.
