Sooner Baseball Starts Season With 7-4 Win Over San Diego State

The Sooners trailed San Diego State twice Friday night but took the lead for good in the 5th off the bats of Garrett Buechele and Chris Ellison. Trailing 3-2 going into the inning, Oklahoma closed the inning with a 4-3 lead. They added two more runs in the 6th and the final score came in the off a Cameron Seitzer home run.

Jeremy Erben didn't start but he gets the win for Oklahoma after coming out of the bullpen to pitch four innings. He faced 18 batters, giving up 5 hits, striking out 2 and only allowing one run. Ryan Duke picked up his first save of the season after allowing no runs in the 9th inning and only giving up one hit while facing four batters. 

Oklahoma has two games Saturday afternoon against San Diego State before playing the final of the four game set at San Diego State on Sunday.
