Oklahoma's men's basketball team has the opportunity to go on a three-game winning streak and improve their season record to two games above .500 before they begin conference play by hosting Texas A&M on January 8th. That streak should begin tonight with a win over a struggling Sacramento State team that comes to Norman with just three wins on the season.
The Hornets are shooting 41% from the floor (33% from three-point range) while their opponents are shooting slightly better at 43%. They are led in scoring by point guard Sultan Toles-Bey who is averaging 12.6 points per game.
Meanwhile, the Sooners are coming off a 10-point loss to Cincinnati and aren't necessarily catching the basketball world on fire themselves. However, this is a team that I believe has improved from the beginning of the season and even from their trip to Hawaii.
This is a game that Oklahoma should handle fairly solid. Look for the Sooners to possibly get off to a slow start, but eventually establish a presence in the middle with Andrew Fitzgerald and then go on to a comfortable win.
