Sooners Grab Commitments From Shead And McClain

 

McClain will be bringing his speed and hands to Norman in 2010

Oklahoma’s 2010 recruiting class has grown to nine commitments with the additions of offensive lineman Adam Shead and receiver Sheldon McClain. Both players are from the state of Texas and both had offers from rival Big 12 schools.

 

Snead (from Cedar Hill, Texas) becomes the Sooners’ third offensive line commit in this class. At 6-4/315 he is a four star recruit as ranked by Rivals had offers from nine other schools including Baylor, Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas, Texas A&M and Texas Tech. Shead is the 12th ranked offensive lineman by Rivals putting him alongside who was ranked 13th and Tyrus Thompson who is 15th.

 

McClain is a speedy receiver/kick returner from Cibolo, TX. He’s listed at 6-2/174 and runs a 4.48 forty. Rivals has him listed as a three star recruit. As a junior, McClain caught 26 passes for 488 yards with 18.8 yards per reception average. He also returned 9 kickoffs for a total of 247 yards. McClain turned down offers from Baylor, Kansas State, Northwestern, SMU, Texas A&M and Utah to come play for the Sooners.
