Sooner Sports Beat – What The World Is Saying About OU

Football

  • Rivals comes up with another thing that Oklahoma football is tops in the nation at.
  • The NFL combine is being held this weekend. Juaquin Iglesias is stirring up a bunch of talk already. Ed Thompson has a Q&A with Sam Bradford's main target last season and Big Blue View looks to yours truly for some info.
  • Bucky Brooks has Phil Loadholt rated as the 10th best offensive lineman prospect in the draft. I'm more curious about Loadholt than any other Sooner in the draft just because it seems that everyone is curious about his potential but unimpressed with his workouts so far.
  • Let's not forget Duke Robinson. He's getting some pub as well.
  • Apparently Mack Brown is still having inferiority issues and is struggling to let things go. I wonder how many 45-35 signs we are going to see when OU plays at Texas tomorrow.

Baseball

  • Baseball started today with a huge performance against Western Illinois. I think everyone got to play.

Men's Basketball

  • Oklahoma/Texas basketball is getting national attention. Mostly because this is one of the final barriers between the Sooners and the Big 12 championship.
  • Dick Vitale is finally coming around to the belief that Blake Griffin is much better than the pre-season third team All-American he previously had him ranked at.
  • Not everyone is sold on Blake Griffin as the National Player of the Year just yet. Nor the Sooners being the top team in the country should they beat Texas for that matter.
