Defensive End Jarrett Brown Commits To Sooners

Oklahoma’s 2009 recruiting class lost a linebacker on Sunday but gained a three star defensive end. Linebacker Brandon Mahoney announced that he was switching his commitment from Oklahoma to Texas Tech, becoming the second OU commit to do so along with receiver Eric Ward.

When Ward stepped away four star JUCO receiver Cameron Kenney stepped up to take his scholarship. Now, on the same day Mahoney switches three star defensive end Jarrett Brown has decided to call Norman home. When you consider the depth that OU has returning at linebacker and the four linebackers already committed to the Sooners in this class I don’t really blame Mahoney for jumping ship.

Brown is a 6-4, 242 pound defensive end from Arlington, Texas. He had narrowed his choices down to Kansas State, Oklahoma and Tennessee but received offers from Connecticut, Iowa State, Purdue, Texas Tech and Utah.
