What The Crystal Ball Says About Nebraska And Arizona In The Holiday Bowl

New, 4 comments

The crystal ball correctly gave us Georgia as the winner over Texas A&M in the Independence Bowl. It even said that the Dawgs would pull away and win the game in the second half. Now we look at the next bowl game that includes a Big 12 team and we find our magic ball telling us a few things about Nebraska and Arizona in tonight's Holiday Bowl. Here's a hint - Nebraska will win by scoring a shocking number of points.

1st 2nd 3rd 4th Total
Arizona Wildcats 10 3 0 10 23
Nebraska Cornhuskers 0 21 3 7 31

  1. The score will be higher than most people think. Short fields resulting from two very good defenses along with a defensive score will provide the platform for a higher scoring game than generally expected.
  1. Arizona will be successful through the air. The Wildcats know all about Ndamukong Suh and will have had time to game plan around him. Look for Arizona to use screens and short passes to counter the pressure from Nebraska's front.
  1. Nebraska wins this game in the second quarter. The Huskers will get off to a slow start offensively but will finally find their rhythm near the end of the first quarter and will turn that into second quarter scores. Add a defensive score to this and the Huskers take control of the game before the half.
  1. Nebraska's defense limits Arizona's opportunities. The Wildcats will have opportunities to score touchdowns and seize control of the game but the Husker defense will turn it into a field goal kicking contest.
  1. An Arizona player will be named player of the game. Our guess is Wildcat Greg Nwoko who will have a much better day receiving than he will running the football.
