Sam Bradford Has A New Target: Cameron Kenney

New, 8 comments

Many people though that four star junior college recruit was heading to the University of Georgia. After the standout receiver grew up in the Atlanta area and the Bulldogs were pursuing him hot and heavy. However, after making an official on campus visit in Athens it was Oklahoma that was on his mind and not Georgia.

“The official visit to [UGA] went great, it was better than I could ever imagine,” Kenney told the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “However, I just couldn’t pass on the opportunity to play with the Heisman Trophy winner and, more importantly, for the team many pick to win the national championship next year.”

“Sam Bradford won the Heisman. He turned down the NFL to compete for a national championship again at Oklahoma. There will be a ton of NFL scouts looking at him next year. They need some impact players at wide receivers, and think I can be one of them. What wide receiver wouldn’t want to be part of all that?”

Kenny caught 40 passes last season for Garden City Community College tallying up 560 receiving yards and 5 scores. He is 6-2, 195 and runs a 4.4 forty. He turned down offers from Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina and South Florida to become a Sooner.  If he can come in and immediately earn playing time (being a 4 star JUCO that is exactly what he should do) then this adds to a great deal to Oklahoma’s vertical passing game. In addition to Jermaine Gresham, Ryan Broyles and a stable of running backs now Bradford has another lethal weapon in his arsenal.
