Oklahoma railed off their 9th consecutive win on Sunday afternoon in the final of a four game sweep of Illinois. In the series OU outscored the Leathernecks 37-16 with impressive offensive performances in games one and two of the series backed up by solid pitching.
From the mound sophomore Chase Anderson had an impressive start to the series going seven innings and only allowing two runs on seven hits on Friday afternoon. The two runs would never even threaten the Sooners because for the fourth straight game Oklahoma would plate 10 or more runs.
Offensively it was senior Jarod Freeman who turned in the best performance of the series. In the second game he scored 3 runs and knocked in 2 more RBI's by going 3-4 from the plate including a home run.
Oklahoma is in Frisco, Texas this week for games against Dallas Baptist (Tuesday) and Northern Illinois (Wednesday).
