TCU could be making a return to Norman. A deal between Texas Christian University and Oklahoma is close to being finalized. It would bring TCU to Norman next season for a game on September 27 and the Sooners would then travel to Ft. Worth in 2012.

While Sooner fans have been dying for a rematch since 2005 you have to give Horned Frogs coach Gary Patterson credit for stepping up to play upper level teams in the Big 12.

"The kids love it," Patterson said. "I think it's a measuring-stick game. You've got to be able to tell where the program is. Oklahoma and Texas are top-10 teams year in, year out."

Trent Smith could be returning to the Sooner sideline. Mark Rogers confirmed Friday that he would not return as Oklahoma's sideline reporter, for the radio broadcasts, after doing it for the last five seasons. Reportedly the frontrunner to replace Rogers is former Sooner tight end Trent Smith.

Let's just hope he gets some confidence and doesn't stutter as much as he has when appearing on the local sports radio talk shows. We love ya Trent but sometimes it's hard to listen.

News on the quarterbacks coming Thursday? Well actually it could come as early as Wednesday night. After Saturday's scrimmage failed to produce any real separation among Oklahoma's signal callers the Sooners are planning on a short scrimmage Wednesday evening after practice.

"I think as we get through this week, we've got to get to that point," Wilson said of trimming the competition. "We need to probably start making decisions."
"We'll see what happens as we go through (the next day or two)."

Darien Williams and Branndon back in practice. Branndon Braxton suffered a minor ankel injury earlier in camp and Williams has not practiced at all since suffering a stress fracture in his foot at the beginning of camp. Both guys are back in practice this week and completely healthy!
