I don't think anyone expected the OU baseball team to start the season 1-3. I know for sure that no one expected the Sooners to be outscored 28 - 9 in their first four games!
Sure this was a team that was young but it is also a team that is talented and it appears that it is taking longer than expected for that talent to turn into wins on the diamond. After starting the season 1-2 last weekend at the UTPA Classic OU is off to another shaky start this weekend at the Hughes Bros. Challenge in Wilmington, N.C. after today's 13-2 loss to #4 South Carolina.
With UNC-Wilmington coming up tomorrow and Western Kentucky on the schedule for Sunday the Sooners still have the opportunity to salvage a winning record for the season and pull their overall record to .500 but they are going to have to find a way to start hitting the ball and get the pitching staff's ERA way down.
