The Notorious Nate C.

Nate Carter is leading the charge for the resurgent Sooners.

Nate Carter has exploded in Big 12 Conference play to not only propel the Sooners to a 6-4 conference record but also become one of the elite players in the conference.

His ability to score both inside and outside has created nightmares for opposing teams to defend. He seems to have a knack for knowing where the ball will come off the rim allowing him to snatch up rebounds. He not only gets to the foul line but he takes advantage of it. Carter has made 64 of 71 free throw attempts!

Some credit Carter's surge to Oklahoma's loss of Keith Clark allowing him more playing time while others credit it to Longar Longar's suspension forcing Carter to put the team on his back.

Personally I credit to coaching! Jeff Capel has done an outstanding job this season not only in developing Carter but the entire team. There were no superstars on this team so Capel created one. This team went from not being able to finish a big game to winning back-to-back big games against Texas Tech and Oklahoma State.

Sooner basketball is in good hands with Capel running the show and Carter running the floor. The Sooners are after their fourth win in a row tomorrow night when they play Iowa State on the road and the post season is calling their name. Those are two things that we thought impossible just a month and a half ago.
