I've been talking a lot lately about the possibility of Sam Bradford breaking the NCAA passing touchdown record for a freshman quarterback during the course of the regular season. He may or may not do it Saturday night against Baylor but the chances just got better.
The Bear's starting rover Dwain Crawford and starting strong safety Brandon Stiggers suffered broken legs last week against Texas Tech and will be absent from the secondary. In addition to that rover Jake La Mar suffered a broken bone in his wrist. He'll be playing but obviously not at 100%.
"When it rains, it pours," Baylor coach Guy Morriss told the Waco Tribune. "We lost two good football players. We lost a lot of leadership when Dwain went out because of his play-calling and ability to get people in the right places. He was like a quarterback on that side of the ball."
Bradford needs four touchdown passes to tie the record at 29 and five to break it.
