Griffin Brothers Lead Oklahoma Sooners to Season Opening Victory

OU fans finally got to see Blake Griffin play in a game where it counted. After leading the Sooners in rebounding and in scoring on their exhibition trip to Canada over Labor Day weekend and then through two exhibition games last week Oklahoma's highly touted freshman finally was able to do it when his stats would stay in the record book.

With the assistance of older brother Taylor the Griffins led OU to a 40 - 30 halftime lead over San Francisco and then held on until the cavalry arrived in the form of Tony Crocker. Crocker scored all 10 of his points in the second half to help the Sooners out score the Dons 31-15 in the second half and walk away with a 71- 55 victory.

OU will play Denver Friday night in the Lloyd Noble Center for a chance to go to New York to play #3 Memphis in the semifinals of the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic.
