The Silverswords are led by senior point guard Zack Whiting, a Bob Cousy Award candidate who averages team highs of 13.5 points and 11.5 assists a game. He had 13 points, 13 assists and six rebounds against DePaul on Tuesday. Junior forward Stewart Kussler contributes 13.0 points and 5.5 boards a game and netted 21 points on 8-for-11 shooting versus the Blue Demons. Junior guard Mike Green has come off the bench the first two games to average 12.5 points a contest. Green and fellow junior guard Darrell Birton are both 6-for-13 (.462) from 3-point range on the young season.
I'm a little settled down now after yesterday's disappointing loss to Purdue. Playing Chaminade gives Oklahoma the perfect opportunity to end their trip to Hawaii with a win. From this point on Oklahoma has got to beat the teams that they are supposed to in order to stay above .500. The season is still very young and there are still a lot of possibilities open.
