Waxahachie Senior John Hannan, who had been an Oklahoma State commitment, switched his pledge to the Sooners. The 6' 4" 285 pound center committed to Oklahoma State in April but changed his mind after receiving an offer to play for the Sooners during an unofficial visit for the Iowa State game.
This was a good pick-up for the Sooners who are in need of more offensive linemen. The lack of depth on the line was exposed Saturday night when right tackle Branndon Braxton suffered a broken leg and was replaced by true freshman Trent Williams.
As for picking OU over OSU apparently it was a no brainer. The Sooners just had to make an offer.
"OU has a bigger tradition of winning, it's closer to home and I really like [offensive line coach James] Patton," Hannan said.
