NFL Draft Thread

Malcolm Kelly, Curtis Lofton and Reggie Smith among others are set to go in this weekend's NFL draft. Kelly, Lofton and Smith are most likely second round picks but any of the three could sneak into the first round.

In all the Sooners could have as many as 8 players selected between today and tomorrow. Make sure to leave your thoughts and opinions in here on this thread.

UPDATE: Atlanta takes Curtis Lofton with the 6th pick in the second round.

UPDATE: Washington takes Malcolm Kelly with the 20th pick in the second round.

I thought the Redskins
got a phenomenal steal on Malcolm Kelly but was surprised to see them take both Thomas and Kelly. I'd love to hear any/all your thoughts on Kelly.

I'll give you my take
Malcolm Kelly has great size, great hands, and athleticism. The guy made some incredible catches over the 3 years he was a Sooner. He broke a record for WRs in the 2006 Big XII championship (yards?) and after the game I saw a YouTube of Malcolm doing an improvised rap about the Sooners and their win over Nebraska. It was quite entertaining! He was just a Sophomore then. OU missed him tremendously the last two Fiesta Bowls. Had he been available in the 2006 season (Jan 2007) Fiesta against Boise State, I think he would have been a difference maker. Malcolm made Paul Thompson (OU QB) look good. He later apologized to the Sooners for his outburst about his poor pre-draft performance, so I am willing to cut the kid some slack. I'm glad he got drafted by the Redskins where he'll fill an obvious gap.
