Reports: Oklahoma State Fires Sean Sutton

Several media outlets are reporting that Oklahoma State has fired men's basketball coach Sean Sutton. While there is no official word from the university there are enough legitimate media sources reporting it to believe that it's true.

I have mixed feelings about it because I think that he may have received a raw deal but I also felt about him the same way I do of Texas football coach Mack Brown. As long as he is on the sideline OU has an advantage.

Gotta
love how Boone Pickens loves Mike "I'M A MAN,I'm 40!" Gundy and his sub .500 record as a football coach but essentially fires Sean Sutton who has basically the exact same record as Jeff Capel, who gets a raise and extension, through the same amount of seasons.

That is just how they do things at Boone Pickens St., they want to be big time like OU but will never be as good no matter how much money Boone Pickens gives. Sorry OSU, enjoy falling behind Tulsa as second best school in the state.

I'm glad to hear this...
... as a former OSU alum, but OU and OSU men's basketball are heading in different directions. OU up, OSU down. How many opening round NIT losses has it been for OSU? 2 or 3? I think Sutton's "resignation", if that is indeed what it really was, will prove best for OSU b-ball in the long run. Sean Sutton had supposedly one of the best recruiting classes in the nation a few years back, and look who's still there: Terrell Harris and Byron Eaton... that's it, I'm pretty sure. Some questions to ask are (1) who are realistic candidates to replace Sutton; and (2) how will this impact their recruiting?

I wish Sean Sutton the best of luck as a new coach elsewhere. He always seemed a bit overwhelmed in Stillwater.

There
is no way that he goes to OSU. That would be the dumbest thing he could do. Unless T. Boone gives him like $10 million a year. Going from a top 5 job in the country to not even the 2nd best job in the state would be ridiculous.

they won't
I think okie st. made a mistake, its good for ou barring a fluke hire, but i still think sutton got a bad deal, all coaches should get thier recruiting classes through barring exceptional circumstances, ie sampson at indiana.
