Could the third time be the charm for the Sooners against the Longhorns in the Big 12 Semifinals?

Both teams are playing for Seeding in the Big Dance. Texas is still in the running for a number 1 seed and Oklahoma is looking to improve on what is looking like no worse than a 7 seed.

A win against the Longhorns would snap a five-game losing streak to Texas. The Sooners are 4-1 against the Longhorns in Big 12 Championship play and carry a 3-0 mark against Texas in Big 12 Tournament Semifinal action. OU's three semifinals wins over UT all came in Kansas City (68-55 in 1998, 81-65 in 2000 and 67-51 in 2002).

We all know that Texas is lead by two outstanding guards, D.J Augustin and A.J Abrams. Damion James, us Sooners know all too well, played one of his best games of the year in the Quarterfinals against OSU, scoring 23 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.

Oklahoma's inside game should be able to neutralize James, so as it always seems to always be in March, come down to guard play. Austin Johnson, Tony Crocker, David Godbold, and Cade Davis, have to set up their game both defensively and offensively.

If, and this is a big if, the Sooners can knock their shots down and some how keep Abrams & Augustin under 20, they should be in the game until the very end, with a great shot to win.
