This time last week the entire Sooner Nation was disappointed in David Godbold for what he did in the final seconds of the Colorado game. This week his actions in the final seconds of the Texas Tech game are drawing him praise and possibly a chance to get out of Jeff Capel's doghouse. What a difference a week makes!

Since dribbling out the final seconds during the Sooners 72-58 loss against the Buffaloes in Boulder Godbold lost his starting position to Tony Neysmith for the Iowa State and Colorado games. Saturday in the closing seconds of Oklahoma's game in Lubbock Gobold had the ball in his hands once more but this time he delivered.

Trailing 64-63, the Sooners called timeout with 10 seconds left to set up their final offensive play. Godbold inbounded the ball to Austin Johnson, who was immediately double teamed and couldn't get a shot off. Johnson passed the ball back to Godbold, who nailed a 3-pointer from about six feet behind the line giving Oklahoma a 66-64 win.

I don't care how ugly the offensive sequence was, or even the game for that matter, a win is a win and I'll take it any day. Saturday's win moved Oklahoma's conference record to 5-5 and 17-8 overall. It also kept NCAA Tournament hopes alive and gave OU a quality conference road win because the Red Raiders hadn't lost a conference game at home until now.

Godbold's shot was significant because despite dominating the boards Oklahoma's big men couldn't score. Longar Longar was the only post player to score in double figures but he only had 10. Blake Griffin scored 9 and Taylor had 8. In fact, none one scored consistently except for Austin Johnson who knocked in a game high 20 points.

Oklahoma won this game with tenacious defense, by rebounding by hitting clutch shots at crucial times and a little luck but like I said earlier we'll take it!
