Sooners Win Ugly

A win is a win and when you have lost six in a row you'll take it anyway you can get it. Nate Carter was as impressive as ever in the first half and after Iowa State clamped down on him in the second half Taylor Griffin, Tony Crocker, Bobby Maze and David Godbold stepped up.

In my opinion Godbold was the difference maker down the stretch by coming up with the big plays. None the less well give our star of the game award to Nate Carter for his 22 points and 9 rebounds.

Tony Crocker gets an honorable mention for star of the game playing in place of Michael Neal who is out with the flu. Crocker scored 15 points putting him second behind Carter.

I think this win puts the Sooners on the NIT bubble with a 16-15 record and with Kansas up next for OU tomorrow morning nothing is a lock. I'm not sure that Oklahoma has to beat the Jayhawks to get an invite but they at least have to make a real good showing.

Check out Rock Chalk Talk for analysis and perspective from the Jayhawks.
