This is a billboard currently up (probably in the process of being taken down as we speak) in Las Vegas promoting season tickets for UNLV football and basketball. Just one problem however. The gentleman on the right there, well that's current Oklahoma head basketball coach, Lon Kruger. He who hasn't coached at UNLV for now almost three years. Innocent enough mistake, but still pretty funny.

Bob Stoops' Twitter Account Is Now Open To The Public

Wednesday afternoon Bob Stoops did the unthinkable. He opened his Twitter account to the general public. Previously, Stoops' account had been locked which meant you had to be approved to see any of his tweets and any other information associated with his account. No longer, now everyone will have a chance to read pre-approved messages from whatever graduate assistant is operating Stoops' account on his behalf. Huzzah!

OU Walk-on Offensive Lineman Arrested, Suspended Indefinitely

After being listed on the OU depth chart earlier in the day as the backup left tackle, news broke late Monday afternoon that walk-on Jake Reed had been arrested on assault and burglary charges. An OU spokesman confirmed the AP report and released that Reed had been "suspended indefinitely while the matter is pending."

Former Sooners Defensive End Ronnell Lewis Cut By The Detroit Lions

Former OU d-end Ronnell Lewis was cut Sunday by the Detroit Lions. He had struggled to give them what they needed at the defensive end position. Hopefully with the decision coming early enough, Lewis can catch on somewhere else.

OU Defensive Back Reportedly Involved In Car Accident With Norman Police Officer

According to a report from the Norman Police Department, Oklahoma defensive back Kass Everett hit an officer with his car Friday afternoon. Generally, it's a good life policy not to do this.

Sooners Hire Texas A&M Assistant To Lead Their Track & Field Program

Joe Castiglione looked to one of the top track and field programs in the country when searching for someone to lead Oklahoma's track and cross country programs. On Monday, OU announced that man was now former Texas A&M assistant Jim VanHootegem. VanHootegem have won seven team NCAA championships, 14 conference championships and produced 22 individual NCAA champions during his time in College Station.

Oklahoma & Tulsa Agree To Two Game Basketball Series

The Tulsa World is reporting that Oklahoma and Tulsa have agreed to a two-game basketball series. The Golden Hurricanes will travel to Norman this coming season, while the Sooners will make the return trip in 2014.

OU Loses Another Coach

The University of Oklahoma has lost another coach. This time in the form of highly respected Martin Smith who was the director of both the Track & Field and Cross Country programs at OU. Smith was hired away by Iowa State and will oversee the same programs in Ames as well as their women's track and field program as well.
