Per the Twitter-verse, new to the Texas State Fair this year. Fried Girl Scout cookies, more specfically fried Samoa Girl Scout cookies. Just, wow.
This is being called Florida State's new mascot, but evidently it's not really new. Regardless, the clearly much more important part of this is that finally the Sooners aren't alone in the pig/horse mascot department! Because sharing the embarrassment makes it a little better, right? Wait, no it doesn't? Dang it!
We surpassed another milestone today here at CCM and I just wanted to take a quick sec to acknowldege it. SB Nation provides us (the managers) will all kinds of stats to track traffic on the site and among them is something they call 'total visits.' I won't bore you with the details as to what that entails, rather I'll simply tell you we have surpassed the 2.5 million mark! While I haven't been involved with the site since it's inception, I have thoroughly enjoyed the time I have been here and can't thank Matt enough for allowing me to get involved. Also want to recognize all the hard work my fellow contributors provide on a daily basis making this site what I humbly consider to be one of the best OU sites on the interwebs. And last but most certainly not least, a sincere thank you to all of you who come here regularly, semi-regularly, or just every once in a while. None of this would be possilbe, let alone worth it, without all of you!
When I met Kerry King I asked him if he likes college football and he said HELL YEA..! I asked him his thoughts on texass he gave me the sign after he saw my blacked out OU hat. I asked if he'd take a pic with me of the most famous sign in ALL of college football..! OU and SLAYER RULES..!!!
Wow, is that gonna take some getting used to. It is going to be incredibly strange not to see BV on the sidelines next season. I'd say orange is a good color on him, but as an OU fan I'm forbidden from ever saying such a disgusting thing. So I'll simply say you'll be missed BV and best of luck to you!
Corey Wilson and Larry Fitzgerald at the last day of practice. (h/t newsok OU blog)
ESPN just can't seem to get things right. While this was the minimum expectation among Sooner fans...there were some others who expected us to get there. This expectation was so much so that we are apparently the #3 in the nation playing #4 Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl. If only that were the way it shaped up. No words to describe this and all I am left to do is shake my head at what could/should have been and what actually went down.
