Over the course of the past week, the Oklahoma Sooners picked up three wins including a series clinching win over the weekend against the Baylor Bears. Starting to find their stride in the thick of conference play, one player was recognized above all others, Hunter Haley.
During the four game stretch, Haley witnessed his batting average climb out from the sub .200 range after going 6-of-14 for the week. The .429 average through the four games brought Haley's average up to .224 as he collected three homeruns to go alongside six RBIs. Behind the effort, the senior picked up the Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week. Each week the honor is decided and announced by Collegiate Baseball News Monday.
The occasion marks the third time in school history that a Sooners has been handed the honor. Before Haley joined the club, Mac James and Kolbey Carpenter stood as the only two from Oklahoma. Congrats Hunter!
