This season could not have ended any better than it did except for the little championship thing. I am stoked with the job the coaches did and with the way the players patched themselves up and played their guts out. Things are really looking up for this team, can't wait for next season. Some say this was a great season, I say it was a damn good season. Great to me is putting up another conference banner and some serious hardware in the cabinet. Yes, I am a monster created by Switzer that continued to be fed by Bob. I am the unrealistic fan who settles for nothing short of perfection. Happy with 10 wins, that's Okie state stuff, that's Texass stuff. Are there years that 10 was good for us? sure, but not this year. Who here thinks we should have lost the RRR?, I don't. We were the better team and no one will convince me otherwise.
That brings me to my next point. Why did we lose that game? I know who I blame and there are people who strongly disagree and that's fine. No one here signed a contract forcing us to always agree with each other (thank God), that is one of the things that make these places fun. I love Stoops and would not trade him for any other coach out there right now. I think he went through a time where the fire wasn't in his belly but he looks like he is having fun again and he has finally opened up to making changes that are good for the team. Now about JH. I like Josh, he will always be special to Sooner fans for what he did in 2000. He is a good QB coach and I believe he is starting to be a good OC. A lot of people think he has called every game perfectly and blame the outcome of games on execution, I just can't make myself believe that. He came from a pass early and often system, played in that system, and did a good job coaching in that system when we were rigged to throw it all over the field and no one could shut us down. I think Bob wants us to now be a punch you in the mouth team that will burn you with the pass if you try and stop it and (in my humble opinion) Josh has had a little trouble adapting to the concept. The last two games of the year were fantastic game plans and I hope that they were planned by Josh. If so the future looks very bright for this offense and I have some crow to eat along with a table full of other people.
For what it's worth, I think we have a great coaching staff who will only get better with time spent together. We have some great athletes on campus and on the way, And of coarse we are the greatest fan base in the world. We are the OU monster, the fans who cheer together, disagree with each other, then cheer together some more. It's been a blast trading smack with all of you this year. Stay in shape during the off season and let's take it to the Nation next year!
