2013 Countdown To Kickoff: 47 Days!

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

From early 1953 to late 1957 the Oklahoma Sooners won 47 consecutive football games.

Oklahoma's 47-game winning streak is most likely a college football record that will never be broken. While many great Sooner names like Tommy McDonald and Jerry Tubbs are synonymous with that streak there may not have been anyone greater than Jimmy Harris.

He became Oklahoma's starting quarterback during the 1954 season and led the Sooners to back-to-back national championships in 1955 and 1956. Having quarterbacked more than half of Oklahoma's 47 wins, Harris was a perfect 25-0 as the starting quarterback.
