Update: Jordan Woodard has just been named the National Freshman of the Week
The Oklahoma Sooners have eclipsed the century mark twice this season with the most recent occurrence coming against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. A major asset and a large part of why OU has been successful this year has been the emergence of true freshman and point guard Jordan Woodard.
On a Saturday afternoon whilst facing his older brother, Woodard recorded a career high 24 points and 8 assists despite connecting on a mere three field goals. However, the effort also tied an Oklahoma school record as this youngster found himself at the free throw line an impressive 22 times converting 17 of those.
The performance earned Woodard the title of the Big 12's Newcomer of the Week. This marks the third time a Sooner has earned the honor this season.
