Everyone seems to agree that Oklahoma will decisively beat Texas next Saturday. We are 5-0, to a mere 3-2 record posted by the Longhorns. The Longhorns have been embarrassed on defense this year. The Sooners have a stout defense. Blake Bell is playing well. The Longhorns starter is injured and the back-up, McCoy, has been inaccurate and inept to put it nicely. I could go on, but I doubt I actually need to. What might surprise you however, is my pick in Dallas next week-end. Texas, is my pick, to beat the Sooners. I do believe that the game could go either way. We should not expect to see the defense that humiliated Texas against B.Y.U.. With a new d-coordinator, and a squad that couldn't sink much lower, Texas has improved in the past few weeks. It also worries me that we can only beat T.C.U. by 3 points. I also expect us to score more than 20 points. Beating West Virginia 16=7 isn't exactly a game to brag about. While most of us thought Notre Dame was a big win and a measuring stick, I think we will find as the season moves on that it wasn't a very big deal. The first game of the year against Louisiana Monroe [we won 37-0], past Sooner teams rout 63-3 no matter who the q.b. is. Texas R.B. Jonathon Grey is a scary back. His running style resembles A.D.. Let's just hope they wont run the ball like the second half of the I.S.U. game. Thank goodness Ash is hurt, but let's hope they can't get the ball to wide outs Mike Davis or sophomore phenom and ultra-speedster Daje Johnson. Either one can take it to the house on any given play, Texas defense will show up big, or not show up at all. Mobile q.b.s have had their way against the horns, But these quarterbacks are more from the Trevor Knight mold. Not from the Blake Bell bruiser style. Bell will be a non-factor on the ground. We should be able to count on the secondary from Texas to give up big plays, The horns D has been missing plenty of tackles as well. Final, Texas 31 Oklahoma24. Let's hope not, but you heard it here.
