OU Football 2012 - Sooners Officially Name A No. 2 Quarterback

And there you have it, folks.

Contrary to popular opinion, Bob Stoops did in fact name a No. 2 quarterback and he did so by announcing Tuesday evening that Blake Bell had earned the opportunity.

Obviously with Landry Jones ahead of him, his role in this offense will be somewhat limited but this move has much more significance towards 2013 than it does 2012. This should give Bell, at a minimum, a slight edge in winning the QB1 spot next spring/summer.

As for Drew Allen, I'm quite sure Stoops would have something similar to say in that I wouldn't just immediately write him off.
