Oklahoma finished up the second of sixteen spring workouts on Wednesday and a few bits of information have become newsworthy to fans hungry for anything football. Here are a few tidbits that you may find interesting.
Heard, even if not seen - Many fans can remember the exuberance and fiery demeanor that defined Mike Stoops as he roamed the Oklahoma sideline from 1999-2003. What the current Sooners are learning is how loud his voice actually is. Apparently he's been heard by just about every other positional unit as he's working out the defensive backs.
Back quicker than expected - Receiver Jaz Reynolds, fullback Aaron Ripkowski and linebacker Tom Wort all returned to practice on Wednesday after receiving medical clearance. They were expected to miss spring workouts.
Transferring out - ESPN's Jake Trotter is reporting on SoonerNation$$ that linebacker Kellen Jones is not working out with the team and has plans to transfer.
Slow process but on course - Running back Dominique Whaley will not be participating in workouts this spring but has been doing some light jogging as he recovers from a severely broken ankle and subsequent surgery suffered during the Kansas State game.
Trey Metoyer turning heads - Oklahoma's highly touted freshman receiver is getting rave reviews by everyone from defensive backs to offensive linemen for making athletic (even one handed) catches and adjusting to the college schedule and workouts. Offensive coordinator Josh Heupel says that he's bigger and more physical than the receivers OU has fielded recently. Check out Metoyer here #17
