Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones works out with George Whitfield in Palo Alto, California

Several photographs have surfaced this week of Sooner quarterback Landry Jones going through various drills on a football field of Stanford University. In response to numerous emails requesting information as to why he's there we have finally been able to come up with an answer.

Jones is in fact in Palo Alto, California for spring break and he's working out with quarterback coach George Whitfield. Whitfield has worked with quarterbacks ranging from NFL All Pro Ben Roethlisberger to Heisman winner and overall #1 draft pick Cam Newton. He has also coordinated Pro Days for Auburn, Georgia, Florida Atlantic, Cincinnati, and Louisville.

Jones, along with Clemson quarterback Tahj Boyd and Andrew Luck (Soon to be the #1 pick in the 2012 NFL draft), are spending their time off from spring drills with Whitfield to hone in on some specifics of their QB skills.

I realize that there are varying opinions of Landry Jones among Sooner Nation but you have to respect the kid for his determination and focus on improvement. Especially when sacrificing his spring break to do so!

You can view several photos of Jones' workouts here. You can also find out more information on George Whitfield's academy here.
