All Time OU Great, Derrick Strait, Is Coming Back Home

Stay connected for news and updates

The best corner to ever play under Bob Stoops is coming back home to Oklahoma. Derrick Strait is returning to Norman to start his coaching career as a graduate assistant for the Oklahoma Sooners football team. It's not an unfamiliar situation for the Sooners who have had former players Joey Halzle and more recently Ryan Reynolds as GA's in the past.

At a Thorpe Award banquet several weeks ago, Strait was very open about his desire to get into coaching and now it would appear his alma mater is giving him that chance.

For Oklahoma fans, it's incredibly exciting news as the idea of a former great like Strait sharing his knowledge of the position and just being around the players in general can't help but have a positive impact.

Welcome back home Derrick, Sooner Nation has missed you!
