OU reaching out to FCS National Champ to fill non-con schedule slot?
According to the article it sounds like a pretty long shot, but I'm curious what you all would think of the hypothetical match up? Personally, I hate having FCS schools on the schedule even if they are the national champ for that level.
But let me pose the question to you all. Would playing the FCS national champ make a difference in your eyes or would you still consider it to be a "bad" game because it's a I-AA school?

Why don't we ask Michigan or va tech fans?
I better not get charged a high dollar price for this….

I say bad move...
If UT played Sam Houston St (the runner up) this year I’d still be pissed (like I was 6 years ago)…

Hate this...
I would really hate to see OU play an FCS school. That would only make us like the SEC. Every team in the SEC places one or two cake teams on their schedule to ensure wins:
Alabama vs. Georgia Southern
LSU vs. Northwestern State
Arkansas vs. Missouri State
Georgia vs. Coastal Carolina
Florida vs. Furman
Auburn vs. Samford
Kentucky vs. Jacksonville State
Vanderbilt vs. Elon
Ole Miss vs. Southern Illinois
Mississippi State vs. Tennessee-Martin
South Carolina vs. Citadel
I would much rather we continue on our current track of beating FBS teams instead of looking like them. Seems to me like a loss of dignity if we play an FCS team. Probably just me though.
you forgot Aggy...
Texas A&M vs. South Carolina State

Bad Idea
It does OU no good to play in a game like that. I just see it as a trap game. No good can come out of it.
I don't mind playing and FCS school
it has to happen from time to time, as many FBS schools don’t want to just play one game on the road (they need home games too)
I’m not crazy about playing a GOOD FCS school however, as that’s a no win situation. If OU beats them, then they should have and get no credit……if they happen to lose to them, and hey the best of the FCS can play with much of the FBS, and on a given Saturday, might even be able to be OU….and that would be bad……very bad…..ask Michigan.
couldn't agree more
appy state was the start of a very bad run for michigan

Not a fan
As Redhawk said, it’s a no-win. If we can schedule any FBS team, we’re better off at the end of the season.
I understand that with all the flux in schedules, we may have to play an FCS team, but never like it. And I agree with Redhawk again — if we have to do it, schedule a REAL patsy, as we’ll get no credit under any circumstances.
Bad Idea
there is no sense in it. Plenty of D1 schools. There is a reason they are an FCS school.

FCS is still D1

Being from Georgia
I am ALL IN for OU coming to Statesboro, Ga and playing Georgia Southern the #3/4 team in the FCS….in a stadium that wouldnt seat the OU fans comfortably. ;) Maybe they can get Georgia State in Atlanta (Alabama did that a few years ago…in the programs first year…and they won the Nat’l Championship). Obviously Im just kidding. Would rather go back to Tallahassee…what ever happened to UCF or Rutgers?
