Sooners Land Arguably Top Two JUCO Skill Position Players
If you spent any time on Crimson and Cream Machine in the days leading up to National Signing Day, then JUCO studs WR Courtney Gardner and RB Damien Williams commitment to Oklahoma Wednesday afternoon came as no surprise. But that shouldn't take anything away from the excitement OU fans should be feeling about the two prospects. The two are arguably the top JUCO skill position players in the 2012 class and now both are Oklahoma Sooners!
Gardner had previously been committed to Arkansas, but after an official visit to Norman and hitting it off with both his fellow visitors and future teammates the speculation was it would just be a matter of time before he flipped to Oklahoma. At his announcement ceremony Wednesday afternoon the elite JUCO WR confirmed the speculation as officially signed with the Sooners.
Williams is criminally underrated, in my opinion, as being just a three star recruit according to Rivals. I believe when he arrives on campus this summer he will immediately become Okahoma's best running back. He can be that good.
I think both these guys are legit NFL good and I know I read one quote from a coach recruiting Gardner something to the effect of "If we get this guy, we better use him a lot because we'll only have him for one year." Now that's not a prediction on my or that coach's part that he's only here for one year, but more that he's that talented and could have such a big year he shoots up NFL draft charts.
Video of both the two new Sooners after the jump.
And here are some more recent highlights of Damien Williams.

Rumor has it that Texas is about to sign a huge corporate sponsorship deal for the Longhorn Network. They just have to decide which brand represents them best: Dyson, Eureka or Hoover.
Our little opinionated pinonated disagreement club needs all the luv it can get,
come football season the wolves will be after us. :-)
The one thing being a lot older has going for it, most of us older have seen more CFB than most younger people have seen web pages.

Serious question
How many of these WRs we signed today are better than our 2nd best WR, Jaz Reynolds? Certainly Metoyer. Neal and Williams also? What about Woods and Shepard? Is it possible that Trey Franks is now a 3rd team WR?
Perhaps I’m jumping the gun. Only Metoyer will be there before August so maybe he, Stills, and Reynolds are the starters. Is it possible that Williams replaces Reynolds by Texas and that the 2nd team includes Reynolds, Neal and 1 of Woods and Shepard by the end of the season?
IMO
Trey Franks should never see the field again. I’m obviously not the end all be all authority, but I’d rank the WRs we now have in the following order:
Stills
Gardner
Metoyer
Reynolds
Neal
Jackson
Shepard
Franks
Woods

Thanks
Yeah, I said Williams and meant Gardner. He’s better than Metoyer? Is Metoyer there now? If so, he’ll have a 6 month head start and will be able to go through spring drills.
For me 1 thru three are essentially interchangeable
Stills from a “he’s done it before” standpoint and Gardner/Metoyer from a “they could be scary freaking good” standpoint.

At this point
Stills only gets the #1 slot by default. I’m not sure he doesn’t fall to #3, maybe #4 depending on what Jaz shows this season.

Uh, I think stills is the best receiver but not necessarily the #1
Does that make sense??? Someone will come in & run the short, crossing type routes…& be the broyles :(

I'm just concerned Stills will never ALLOW himself to be the best
I think he has the skills but he needs to do something to purge the quit gene from his body.

So, so, so AGREED about Franks
I hope these youngsters don’t forget how to run when they get to Norman.

Can we please find a way to kill that little sucker?
Seriously, he’s worse than a prairie dog colony!
In accordance with the prophecy
i think thru scientific studies, he is proven to reside at the OU 22 yard line
as well as the 47….

Woods would be the most likely candidate
But in everything I’ve heard seen from him, he’s been pretty adamant about wanting to play offense. Maybe the depth chart eventually changes his mind, time will tell.
