East Central's Stanvon Taylor was named the Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year on Thursday afternoon. Taylor is verbally committed to the University of Oklahoma and will lead his East Central team in this weekend's 5A State Championship game against Carl Albert.

Taylor plays multiple roles on both offense and defense for East Central and has put up an impressive 19 touchdowns so far on the season. Despite spending most of his time at wide receiver, the Sooners have recruited Taylor as a cornerback.
