Just Heard Rumor That OU Hired Kish
This will be short and to the point. I just heard, from a from a source that I consider fairly reliable, that OU has hired Kish as LB coach and Kish has accepted. It was from a Twitter feed from Bruce Feldman. Can someone with better sources verify this? I'm on the verge of royally pissed because this solidifies Bob's interest in only hiring people he knows and is akin to the way Scott Pioli is running his personal playground in Kansas City. Sorry for the brevity and the lack of substance for a FanPost, but I needed it out there.

You're not going to be happy my friend

LOL
“not going to be happy” doesn’t quite get to where I am. Right now, Bob Stoops has just as much credibility with me as John Blake. I don’t believe in him at ALL anymore. He is screwing up game plans, he is screwing up recruiting and now he is absolutely FISTING the hiring process. Add that to the fact that he refuses to allow his offense and defense to change to adjust to the styles of others or to personnel that makes the team successful and I’m done. I’ll still watch. I’ll still cheer. I’ll still hate. I’ll still belly-ache. Bottom line: until Stoops does something to really impress, his ass deserves to be on the hot seat every year…and next year this team is gonna struggle. Especially with the “upgrades” to the defense and the “bonus” of #12 returning. I wanna puke…
I'm skeptical too
But John Blake? Really? The worst season Bob Stoops has ever had at OU is 7-5. The best season Blake ever had is 5-6.

Really
I’m done with Stoops and his BS. I’m sick that he’s happy to perpetuate the mediocrity he has with the coaching staff and that his pride allows the team to fade into said mediocrity (not playing backups EVER, poor recruiting, signing off on terrible game plans). He has no credibility with me anymore. It’s time for him to prove he’s worth the money. These “buddy” hires are just insulting.
I've come to the sickening conclusion
That we’re never going to win another national championship with Bob Stoops as the head coach unless he’s willing to drastically change his approach to things. And this hire just reaffirmed my belief that he is absolutely no intention of ever doing that, so as far as I’m concerned nothing is going to change. I just don’t think he has the drive to be the best in the country any more. I think he has the attitude that he doesn’t have to prove himself any longer and that has lead to his complacency.
Anyone who wants to call me out on this, I’ll gladly own it. Nothing in the world would make me happier to be wrong, but from what I’m seeing this is where we’re at w/ Bob Stoops.

So we hire the DC of the 110th ranked defense...
I know he isn’t being hired to be OU’s DC, he’s going to be LBs coach. But his job at Arizona was DC and he didn’t do too well at it. I would hope they didn’t turn down Tyrone Nix for him, I just think Nix had way more upside. But who knows, maybe Nix wasn’t as interested as we may have thought. Either way, I’m not excited and this is another bad hire IMO.
