Is Texas Heading Towards Independence?
Bohls of the Austin Statesman has written what I've been saying for a long time. Texas only choice maybe to be an Independent.
This is a must read for any UT fan.
If it walks like and independent and talks like and Independent, then it's an independent right?

That last sentence is tu's major dilemna.
Who the heck would it have to boss around?
Considering their behavior, and I have been an observer of it for over fifty years, that might be a consideration to deter them from going independent, but I seriously doubt it will be enough to trump their ego.
If you train people properly, they won't be able to tell a drill from the real thing. If anything, the real thing will be easier. --Richard Marcinko
Baylor will sue right? or was Baylor just being UT's button man before j/k but most probably not ;)
Reporter: What would you say a Greg Studrawa offense is like? Stud:
"Attack and be very physical…fly around…attacking, come after you and come after you and come after you…." Me: I love this answer.
GET TO THE RIM HEAT (and SKY)! ATTACK THE PAINT!
Bohls sums it up.
I could care less if people hate us, there are no white knights in college football, but it’s the conference affiliation that bothers. I have no issues with a school looking out for its own interests, but, at this point, it’s acting against our self interest to continue with the LHN in its current format.
I think it's acting against your own interests to keep running the Big XII as it is
It’s time to admit that the experiment failed. We need equal revenue sharing and a conference network like every other power conference has. This will benefit all teams in the long term, including Texas.
I read a post
on ESPiN, talking about how uT is taking the path of ND and found it apt. They could very well horde their money into irrelevance. Sure, ND still gets the talk, or more accurately, the hype, but they continue to rake in cash, and put a terrible team on the field.
It has been over 20 years since ND’s last championship, and they haven’t had aTm to beat in a bowl game for nearly as long. I know uT covets cash, but what will they think when the college football world doesn’t care? More importantly, will it matter when recruits don’t care? No team is insulated from them whim of 18 year olds.
Too many uT grads forget the John Macovick years. Would they like that, and Rout 66, every year?
seriously…..when was the last time you went to Ames? ever?
The Dirty Thirties Revisited
The (Sour)Grapes of Wrath had led Oklahoma to journey West once again. In Dubious Battle Beebe has led a conference Of Mice and Men through The Long Valley, unfortunately for him it will lead to Cannery Row. I am grateful that he and the conference leaders did not pursue The Harvest (of) Gypsies to keep the conference from going down the toilette with The Log of The Sea of Cortez (A&M). I am convinced that The Pearl (KU) will make it to The Pastures of Heaven and To a God Unknown. Steinbeck saw it all happening many years ago.
