12-minute highlight video of Oklahoma vs. Florida State, posted to YouTube. My favorite part is still the Bob Stoops reaction to Jimmy Stevens' kick.

That...
and Bob’s reaction to little Jimmy Neutron’s field goal was awesome
Awesome game
One of the most physical OU games in years. I think we have got on hell of a team this year. This defense has a chance to be really special.Could be one of those years where we don’t realize how good this team is till the year is over

That's what I was saying
I noticed that too. Laying wood and making teams fear the middle of the field!!
That is OU football.
WR’s will be dreading, stepping into the “SHARK TANK” after too long..

Your D may be good but
the FSU game isn’t a reliable indicator of the quality of your D: 3 of FSU’s top 4 WRs were out (and 1 played with a broken hand), starting QB leaves the game replaced by a Freshman & 1st time starting C & RG. In fact I saw a lot in your secondary that leads me to believe that there’s room for improvement.
Too bad both teams weren’t at their best, but football games have to be played when they’re scheduled and I give OU a huge amount of credit for winning a big game on the road, regardless of injuries. OU is definitely a top 5 team this year, the OU program may be the best in the country and its fans are a class act.
Best of luck for the rest of the season!
Championship!
Your backup QB gave you a better chance to win than EJ. EJ had two picks, was mostly ineffective passing the ball, and missed some open WRs. EJ was healthy enough to return and Jimbo kept Trickett in the game. It was a choice by FSU to stick with the backup and keep EJ on the sidelines.

Trickett (backup QB) may be a better passer
but doesn’t understand the game as much as EJ and was much easier to stop (e.g., zero threat to run) for Venables. Jimbo kept EJ out b/c Trickett was doing alright and he didn’t want EJ’s injury to worsen.
Championship!
By the way, I don’t think FSU loses another game during the regular season.

Tom Wort played even better than I remember and that’s saying something. Wort’s performance was as good a performance from any Sooner LB that I can remember over the past 4-5 years. He was simply a monster.
I attribute some of that to the return of Travis Lewis
I don’t know for a fact that Travis was making the calls for the defense (really, I didn’t pay close enough attention to tell), but I suspect that was the case. Wort was the epitome of controlled aggression.

For the second game of the season..
…on the road in a loud stadium, the Sooners showed they are the real deal.
I got a chuckle at the end of the video, with the Sooner fans doing the tomahawk chop chant.
Too funny.

Wow
There were some vicious hits in this game. I’m glad no one got seriously hurt on either side.

Given, this was a very Sooners-centric highlight reel, but I didn’t realize how close we were to putting this one away in the first half. If not for some seriously conservative play calling twice inside the FSU 10, we’re up 21-3 going into the half.
Maybe I don’t understand the complexities of a “spread” offense, but it would seem to me that at least showing Broyles or Stills or D. Miller lined up wide would force them to loosen up the D up the middle. Instead it seems year after year, despite countless passing records, our OCs feel the need to pretend we’re a team that can just smash it up the middle for scores against legit teams. That is not what this offense (or o-line) is built for.
I’m as happy as anyone that Stoops/Heupel/Norvell are looking to build this team’s running game (which I know will serve us well as the season moves along), but they need to improve the Red-zone efficiency and play calling immediately.
The type of person
I believe that you are the type of person that would gripe if you were hung with a new rope….
Seriously…That is/was a top 5 team, known for having a pretty damn good Defense. You can monday morning quarterback this all day long, but a win is a win, and I’m sure they will improve play calling as time progresses.
Remember that this is Josh’s first year as OC and only his second game…
