Around SBN: Kobe Bryant Will Never Top Michael Jordan

Toward the end of last season, rumor leaked out that Oklahoma State was going to take the Oregon route with the uniforms. I know we joked about the oddity that would be if neon orange met neon yellow on the field along with the fact that people who were pregnant or had epilepsy should not watch.

Aside from all joking, the new Oklahoma State Cowboy Nike uniforms have been revealed via the internet and some "leaked" photos. The uniforms can send all the message they want to, but when it comes down to December 3rd, the outcome will remain the same.

If they must.

All the variants look pretty good, except for the all black with orange. They should save that combo for a Halloween game.
I don’t know how long it has been since they altered their uniforms, but it seems to me that with an improving program they should have kept the other look to try and maintain that which gives one balance, like OU.
What gives one balance? Tradition.

EasTex, You made my day with that “TRADITION” video lol!!

They actually look pretty good

At least they don’t have 12 colors like Oregon. Oregon’s colors are apparently: light gray, duct tape gray, dark gray, black, light green, neon green, dark green, regular green, yellow, neon yellow, greenish yellow, and white.

LMAO

So true, “duct tape gray…both neon green and yellow” in the mix with all them colors. Who knows what they will look like against LSU to open the season.

I may or may not..

Gotta be honest...

Uniforms look incredible, hats off to them. Having said that, I still believe that it shows a lack of program tradition when a school does this. I understand an occasional alternate uni…but you won’t see the ’Bama’s, Notre Dame’s, USC’s, OU’s following suit anytime soon, or at least I hope not anyway.

by LERLIPS on Jul 28, 2011 1:41 PM CDT reply actions

Unfortunately...

These will appeal heavily to potential recruits. It even seems like kids started wanting to play in the UnderArmour AA game over the Army AA game for this very reason…

any coach or AD that really thinks that is dreaming.

any recruit that signs on to a school just because of a uniform or the ‘swoosh’ of nike has idiots for parents that let him make that type of decision.

I agree w/ most here

That they look better than I thought they would. Now the idea that generated it, them wanting to be the “Oregon of the Midwest”, is incredibly stupid and pathetic IMO. Blaze your own trail, don’t just copycat another program’s gimmick. Especially with something as superficial and stupid as this.

Neither lOSUr State not their fans

have ever had an original thought. Now is not the time to start a new tradition amongst them.

At least they stayed...

with their colors for the most part. The aforementioned traditional programs who do win, and win alot do not need for this additional recruiting or marketing boost due to an already huge following. It is the schools who feel that they need to milk their few fans for cash, and the ones who are way behind on recruiting pitches that need to do things like change uniforms for every single game. By the way, I am betting that their all blacks are earmarked for our game.

I don’t like most of these….the grey and white especially looks stupid to me

But I’m also old enough to know I’m not the target market.

Uniforms DO NOT make the player/team

in the end only a real program, winning traditions, and coaches can make a player great. Fortunately lOSUr State has none of those.

Multiple Colorful uniforms might conjure up dreams of grandeur, develop false hopes in a simple minded player/recruit, and cost an athletic department and booster tons of money.

Bus wait a moment, lOSRu State does have a tradition… do the phrases … ‘we almost won’ or ‘wait till next year’ mean anything.

Here’s to their new colorful uniforms and ther long standing tradition of still not being the best of the BIG XII !

BOOOMMER!
