Blake Griffin: The Auburn Mamba?
Getting up this morning I flipped on the tv and of course the first channel that pops up is ESPN. As I was deciding on if I should change the channel or not, a discussion that involved Blake Griffin popped up so I stayed tuned in. I listened intently until I heard the name "The Auburn Mamba" given to BG. I for one am not a fan of this nickname that ESPN is trying to coin for him for this simple reason: it is an adaption of Kobe Bryant's nickname "The Black Mamba." Why can't people who get paid the big bucks be a little more creative? So, I figure BG is an Oklahoma native who played at OU during his rise to stardom...why should his "hometown" not give him a well deserved nickname?
In an attempt to erase the "Auburn Mamba" name what are some good options? "The Rim Reaper" has become a popular one in certain circles and definitely fits.
