Kruger Joins The Growing List Of People That Have Shot OU Down
From the UNLV beat writer for the Las Vegas Sun (his Twitter account):
Sources just confirmed to me that Lon Kruger was contacted by #Oklahoma, but will not interview for the position. He is remaining at #UNLV
LK still has two years left on his deal at #UNLV. No extension coming right away, but expect one to be discussed/agreed to in the future.
So, to my knowledge, that's three programs that have reached out to Kruger and been told 'thanks, but no thanks': #Utah, #OU, #NCSU
He's in his late 50s, paid well/has a good thing going at #UNLV, made a ton of money during his NBA stint. No reason to take on a project.
Who should be the leading candidate now?

I guess
Just let Terry Evens have it till the sanctions are over. Let him clean it up and if he does well, perfect. If he doesn’t do very good, hire a coach like Stevens who is a up and coming proven winner.

This is what I'm starting to think
Terry Evans is the one guy who wants it. Let him take on the challenge. Who knows, the guy might tear it up.

heard this suggestion
serious too
Billy Tubbs has said he’d do it….what if Tubbs comes in for 2 or 3 years, with Terry Evans as an assistant. Tubbs is up there 76….(only 6 older than Larry Brown). He gets the fans interested, gets the team through probation then retires..and Evans takes over…
When I write: Rockies Reporter (www.rockiesreporter.wordpress.com)
"Suck it monkeys, the Rockies will win this year"
I could go for it
Tubbs with Evans as an assistant. Sounds good to me.

Time to start thinking outside the box.
Auriemma or Smart are solid choices IMO. I wonder if the Thunder have anything to do with the lack of fan support for OU basketball?

Hadn't thought about that
yet for the past two years. When Blake was here it didn’t matter, but win or lose I could completely see that affecting OU basketball, especially when the Thunder are successful.

The only college basketball power
That is successful in an NBA city is UCLA. Duke, UNC, UCONN, MSU, UK, KU, and Syracuse all don’t have to compete in their city.

It's all about money
There are only so many dollar bills in each person’s pocket…and OU apparently keeps raising LNC ticket prices!
I just sent in my resume.
Only to turn down an interview if Joe C. calls. It seems like the cool thing to do.
