OU Regents Approve New Athletic Dorms
If there was one piece of the OU Athletic Department that was lacking it was the Bud Wilkinson Center Dorm. It was old, tired and run down 20 years ago. Not a good way to say "here's where you will sleep for the next 3-4 years" This looks nice, and will be where O'Connell's use to be
about 1 year ago

Sad to see the old O'Connell's go though.
Why couldn’t they have torn down the Honors College instead?
yeah Dutch
I know what you mean about O’Connell’s. It’s not the same on Campus Corner. I try to tell myself, time marches on and the University is always changing and evolving…but Thursday Thursday’s at O’Connell’s was a staple for me.

Will it still be named after Bud?
The rendering sure looks nice.
I do have one other question, though. If it designed for 400 students and has 392 beds, are they anticipating “hot bunks” or “canoodling?” ;)
you want a bed?
you have to pay extra or be a starter……

I find it hard to imagine this
right across the street from my house. I thought for the longest time that they were going to be building a lodging facility for that would only be available to OU Alumni — just like so many other schools have. I just want to know what their plans are for the Bud facilities when these are completed. From the looks of it, this building is going to be HUGE in comparison to the Bud.
Another pro to the location is the human anatomy lab will now be across the street from the athletic dorms — not right next to it. No more formaldehyde smell for the athletes.
